President & CEO
As one of the founders, Frank Dusome was instrumental in the initial and ongoing growth of the Company. Frank is a true outdoorsman and in his element in the deep forests of Northern Ontario. He is a Métis Nation of Ontario Citizen and has First Nations affiliations. Frank has 25 years of experience in major project and business management. He is also very knowledgeable in the field of precious metals, has superintendent experience in construction projects and large scale base metal recycling and aluminum smelting operations.
Executive Vice President, CFO, & Corporate Secretary
Dan Shepherdson establishes and maintains the corporate structure of the Company. Dan has provided many public and private companies with senior financial management services for more than 27 years. As CFO, he offers extensive knowledge of reporting practices, requirements and corporate governance. As well as numerous business startups and valuations across various sectors, he has been involved in precious metals for nine years. He has obtained his Professional Director designation.
Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer
Monika brings many years of business and administrative experience ranging from private, public and franchise sectors. She has an entrepreneurial spirit in which she has created several small businesses in the past including starting a human resource agency, implementing FINTRAC compliance in a consulting business and later with a bookkeeping business. Her strong administrative skills are helping the Company with its continued growth initiatives.
Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
Nicky Dusome possesses a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, and is also an Ontario Certified Teacher. She has a diverse background that includes engineering, education, entertainment, and over 20 years of customer relations. Her commitment and dedication to assisting the President & CEO in the operations of the company ensures that GMEI continues to grow and succeed.
Dr. Earl Marshall has been a family medical doctor for over 30 years in his native country of Jamaica. He also has over 12 years of experience in trading equities, equity options and currencies, with a special interest in junior gold mining and energy companies. He is the managing partner of Optimum Partners Inc., which is one of the private equity partners of GMEI.
Wazid Baksh is an accomplished executive and businessman with over 25 years’ experience. He has worked across many different lands, from South America, Central America, the Caribbean and more recently North America. At age 32 he became the youngest member of the executive management of the Bermudez Group of companies, with an immediate challenge to turnaround the salty snack division, which was at risk of being shut down within the next twelve months due to its loss making record. Within twelve months the company became profitable. Sales tripled in three years and the division became a significant contributor of profit for the group. In 2009 Wazid migrated to Canada and established a management consulting Business, then in 2012 helped establish a successful bakery. Wazid is a qualified accountant through the U.K Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and completed the IVEY Executive Leadership Program at IVEY Spencer Leadership Center, London Ontario.
Jerry Grant, M.Sc – Project Geologist, Geological and Analytical Consultant
Jerry Grant received his B.Sc. in Geological Engineering (Mineral Exploration Option) and M.Sc. in Geological Sciences from Queen’s University. He has been employed in the mineral exploration industry for 34 years, exploring for gold, VMS, and nickel sulphide deposits in Canada, the US, Africa and Scandinavia. His experience has largely involved combining data compilation, mapping, and geochemistry, to identify the most successfully probable drill targets. He is a ‘Qualified Person’ for GIS databases, drill hole databases, and analytical data.
Athraa Koma, Geologist
Athraa Koma is a geologist and has been working with the company since early 2014 after graduating from the University of Toronto with a bachelor’s degree in science, with honours in geology. Athraa has many years of field work experience and has a diverse background in health and customer relations. Athraa is the Company Health and Safety Representative and also heads up the seasonal ‘Student Volunteer Program’ providing University level Geology Students from all over North America, an Opportunity to work hands on during the Company’s exploration and diamond core drilling programs. Athraa also aids the Exploration Manager in working with the many contractors and consultants the Company brings onboard during peak exploration programs.
Ted (John) Lang – Lead Hand
Ted is a Field Guide & Geologic Assistant who works on the logistics of access to the mining claims, drill program logistics, storage of drill cores, labour, maintenance of equipment and experience aiding in VLF surveys.
The Company’s Finance & Administration, as well as the Graphics and Website personnel are currently sub-contracted by GMEI, and the Company is pleased that they will continue to provide valuable ongoing services to GMEI.
During peak exploration programs, GMEI contracts many other companies and consultants for projects such as:
Diamond core drilling, geophysical survey, prospecting, claim staking, roads and bridges, line cutters, heavy equipment line clearing, residence and housing, staff training, scientific sampling and analysis, drill core cutting, GIS and database management, report writing, general labourers and many others.
