On June 8th, 2015, students from all over the province began arriving in Matheson, Ontario, to engage in GOOD Mining Exploration Inc.’s (GMEI) 2015 exploration season. They’re part of our annual Student Volunteer Program that provides geology students the opportunity to receive hands-on field training alongside a PGeo. While the number of student volunteers was only 5 last year, this year’s program will boast upwards of 30, including Kira Fuller, a returning student from last year. Athraa Koma and Ce Shi were part of GMEI’s first Student Volunteer Program in 2014, and are now employed as full-time Junior Geologists for GMEI. Drill rigs and equipment from Walker Drilling and DBW Drilling arrived June 23, and core started coming out of the ground on June 29. Our plans are to do in-fill drilling on our CanREE project, as well as further our initial exploratory drilling for the Golden Target.

In addition to the drilling activities, Dan Larsen of Larsen Exploration Services is on-site completing core-cutting from last year’s drill holes, as well as readying himself for this year’s required core cutting. Dan spent a great deal of time with GMEI last year, and we thoroughly look forward to working with him again throughout this season.
